I was advised by American Heart Association (AHA) earlier this month, that, effective on Oct. 3, there would be a Heartsaver course price increase, in fact, a drastic increase in the cost of certification cards to the Training Sites and instructors. This change was done without advance notice to AHA Training Centers or Training Sites. This change only affects AHA Heartsaver courses (not Healthcare clinician-level courses), but the price increase for the Heartsaver cert. card has gone up. We are forced to pass along this increased cost to our Heartsaver students.
It appears AHA is moving towards a model of higher priced cert. cards, and lower priced student books, with the goal of more students having the student workbooks before, during, and after training.
I have not received the details on the final price increase from the Training Center I am aligned with, but I expect to receive something later this week. With that, I have 3 Heartsaver CPR & AED classes scheduled for the remainder of October. If you are coming due, or would like to have the training and certification, I encourage you to sign up today, and reserve your seat in one of my October classes, as I will not change my prices until November 1st.
Again, this DOES NOT affect the Basic Life Support (BLS) course/certification costs, only Heartsaver.
I will continue to strive to offer the BEST BLS, CPR, First Aid and Advanced Medical Training in our geographic area for the lowest price to the student.
